CFUW Perth & District invites you to support September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and we are honoured to welcome Dr. Barbara Vanderhyden, PhD, a leading ovarian cancer research scientist this coming October! On Monday, October 19 at 6:45 p.m., Dr. Vanderhyden will speak at the Perth Legion about: • The history of building the ovarian cancer research community in Canada • Advocacy and lobbying efforts to improve funding for ovarian cancer research • What has been achieved through that funding • Exciting work happening today, including a new prevention strategy and improved treatment approaches This is an important opportunity to learn more about the progress being made in ovarian cancer research—and the work that remains ahead.
